>>Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) touchscreens could soon come with the ability to let users feel the controls on the screen. The company has filed a patent application with the Patent and Trademark Office for a haptic technology that would provide feedback to the user and include sensors that measure the force at which a user touches the screen, an AppleInsider report said.
The application, titled “Touch-Based User Interface with Haptic Feedback,” says the use of piezoelectric actuators would allow the user to feel a virtual button on the fingertip. In addition, if the device can measure how much force a user is applying to the screen, it could respond with differing reactions.
