>>DL: Tell us a bit about your background and how it led you to your current position at Accuray.
EL: I have been involved in radiation delivery technologies for most of my professional career. I graduated with an engineering degree and knew I wanted to build things. Varian gave me a great opportunity to do just that. I spent more than 13 years at Varian in a variety of engineering positions. I left the company in 1996 and went to BrainLAB, where I got the opportunity to continue to work in medical devices and start the company’s North American subsidiary.
