European Peering Forum 2008 - Equinix: Gold sponsor

Welcome to the European Peering Forum 2008

AMS-IX, DE-CIX and LINX are hosting the third European Peering Forum on 15 and 16 September 2008 in Dublin, Ireland. We extend our appreciation to all of our sponsors and in particular the Gold and Silver sponsors for this event - Equinix , Force10 and euNetworks.

The unique event will bring together over 150 individuals from our respective member organisations that have an interest in not only negotiating, but also the operational aspects of peering.

Agenda

Sunday 14th September

There is a pre-event social planned for Sunday evening to be hosted by Limelight Networks with details on venue and times to be confirmed shortly. This event will be a great opportunity to meet with fellow delegates on your arrival in the city of Dublin.

Monday 15th September - The Round Room adjacent to The Mansion House

Registration will commence at 9:30. In addition to the content listed below, both days will feature a number of other technical sessions covering a range of peering topics.

  • INEX Route servers (Nick Hilliard)
  • Multilateral vs Bilateral Peering debate
  • Video content distribution protocols
  • Photographic tour of new PoPs (AMS-IX, DE-CIX & LINX)
  • Interactive peering session
  • The first day will end at around 17:30.

EPF Dinner & Social

Beginning at 19:00, the EPF Dinner & Social will be staged at Trinity College. This is an event not to be missed and will be a fantastic opportunity to network and further enhance your peering relationships.

Tuesday 16th September - The Round Room adjacent to The Mansion House

The second day's programme will begin at 10:00. The content is set to include:

  • Submarine cabling - various sessions discussing funding, commercial activity, how cables work, connectivity options and what the future holds in the industry.
  • Internet security regulation (Malcolm Hutty, LINX) - the convergence with regulation of public switched telephone networks (PSTN) with particular reference to the possibility of extending the powers to cover mobile networks and the Internet.
