The CyberKnife, a radiotherapy robot that administers high-dose radiation with pin-point accuracy, will begin treating cancer patients at the Brunswick hospital of Southeast Georgia Health System next month.
The state-of-the-art equipment arrived at the end of November and required two weeks to be installed in the health system's Cancer Care Center.
The CyberKnife will be used to treat its first patient Jan. 17, said Timothy Jamieson, radiation oncologist and medical director for the CyberKnife program.
